Ambia - spatial experiences

Ambia is an app for various mixed-reality experiences that allows you to enjoy the new interactive dating game «Let Love Win!» as well as outdoor trails around places like museums (for example, Chocolarium in Flawil) and travel destinations like cities (for example, the "Design Promenade" in Zurich). The app tells you whether you are in the right place to start the experience based on your location.

How does the game work?
Ambia is a mixed reality adventure journey where you take a walk. You can follow the directions on the screen and complete the various 3D puzzles.

How long does the game take?
A tour lasts between 15 and 90 minutes and can be interrupted at any time.

How far do I have to walk?
Tour range from a few meters/steps to 2 kilometers (1.3 mi).

Can I also use the game with my family?
Yes, the app works on cell phones and tablets. On the walk, you and your whole family and all your friends can play together on one or more of the devices you have brought from home. The app is set up so that you can play through the various puzzles several times.

Is the tour wheelchair accessible?
Tours are outdoors and leads along paved roads and dirt tracks. However, there might be obstacles such as barriers and steps which you normally can bypass with little detours.

Can I take my baby carriage on the tour?
That is possible.

Why does the game app need access to my location?
The Ambia app guides participants on the tour using a GPS signal. To make this possible, the app needs access to the location. This access right can be removed at any time via the Privacy menu in the system settings. See also our comments on data protection.

The Ambia app shows 3D puzzles on the camera image. To make this technically possible, the app needs access to the camera. The app does not save this image data at any time. What does augmented reality (AR) mean?
When digital worlds and figures are superimposed on a camera image, this is known as augmented reality (AR) or mixed reality (MR). Ambia tours use augmented reality by placing digital 3D puzzles in the camera at various physical locations.
