Amusement Today, Inc., based in Arlington, Texas, was formed in January 1997 by three West Texas newspaper professionals, including Gary Slade, the publication s only editor & publisher, who became sole owner in January 2001. Formed to serve the amusement, theme and water park industries, Amusement Today has since expanded its coverage to include the mobile industry.

The trade publication has won five IAAPA awards, including the coveted Impact Award in 1997 for Best New Product, as well as numerous other industry-related awards. Slade, an avid photographer, has also won numerous photography awards through various other industry-related contests.

Amusement Today is also home to the annual Golden Ticket Awards, a two-day industry event that allows for industry professionals to learn and socialize, all while honoring their own as the Best of the Best with the Golden Ticket Awards ceremony.

As a trade newspaper, the publication is focused on the news side of the amusement industry, providing amusement-related editorial through its print and digital publications and two electronic media outlets. The print publication comprises 14 issues per year and is the only newspaper format for the industry.

The Amusement Today staff is made up of the industry s most experienced group of media professionals, all of whom have long tenure in the amusement industry. From park owners and operators to industry suppliers, all are in agreement that Amusement Today is a must-read for any amusement industry professional.
