Ancient Morris

Ancient Morris is an intellectual classic board game which is so-called Nine Men’s Morris and appears to be one of the oldest board game in the world. With simple rules, you can use different strategies to beat your opponent. This popular ancient game could trace back to ancient Egypt, Rome, and Medieval period around 1400 BCE. The aim of the game is to form rows of three then keep removing opponent’s men until only two pieces left or impossible to make one more move. There are many strategies can apply to the game. Compete with your opponent and win the game!!


How to Play
1.  Settle all the men/pieces and make a line of three to build a mill.
2. You can remove one of your opponent’s men once your mill is formed. To unlock the mills, remove one of your men on the mill.
3. Pieces from a complete mill can’t be removed unless no other men are available.
4. To win the game, your goal is to leave your opponent with either two pieces or zero moves.


Two Stages
1. First Stage: Place 9 of your men on the grid which have 24 intersections. Each player has 9 men/pieces that need to be placed. The players take turns to place a piece at a time on the empty spots.

2. Second Stage: All the men have been placed on the board, the player can start to move the men. Moving a piece to the adjacent spot.


Strategy
* During the first phase, be aware of the opponent from forming the mill and place men on the strategic spot.  

* Whenever a player makes a line of three (a mill), they can remove one of the opponent's pieces from the board.
