App Store Description

Overview:
The Animteam mobile app platform provides tools to help animation studios scale with realtime collaboration and team building. The app provides tools for digital painting, animating on a timeline and managing teams. All animated projects are saved in the cloud and available across devices. Animteam supports frame-by-frame hand drawn 2D animation at 24 frames per second and 720p HD video resolution.

Organization:
Each Animteam film is organized into an ordered list of shots that can be created, deleted, duplicated, renamed or rearranged. Shots are opened and edited independently one at a time.

Team management:
Each film has a list of team members. Team members are invited to collaborate via email. Team members can either have the role of an admin or artist. Newly added team members are assigned to the role of artist by default.

Canvas:
The canvas is for drawing artwork. A finger or stylus may be used to draw. A slider on the right changes the current brush width. Widths from 1px to 1024px are supported. The following finger gestures are supported:
1-finger painting
2-finger freeform canvas transform
3-finger pinch to zoom
2-finger tap to undo
3-finger tap to redo
3-finger hold to show clipboard menu
3-finger swipe to reset canvas transform

Layers:
Digital painting is layers based. Each layer has a name, opacity, blend mode and visibility. Layers are stacked and rendered from bottom to top. Layers can be grouped, clipped, masked or merged. An image from the device can be added as its own layer.

Sequences:
Each sequence is a separate frame-by-frame animation. Sequences are stacked and rendered from bottom to top. Each sequence can be hidden or looped. Each sequence is made up of an ordered list of drawings each of which can be hidden, frame-held and reordered. Each drawing is made up of its own set of layers.

Timeline:
The timeline shows the current frame and current second of animation. The shot can be played forward or backward and the drawings of the current sequence can be stepped through. The time cursor can be dragged to scrub the animation. The timeline supports the following gestures:
1-finger tap to go to a point on the timeline
2-finger pinch to zoom
1-finger swipe to reset the timeline

Color picker:
Colors are selected as RGB, HSV and HSL using square and circle color pickers, or sliders. A hex value can be entered and the current opacity is set with a slider. A color palette is used to store colors for later retrieval. The eyedropper tool samples the canvas and automatically sets the current color.

Move tool:
When the move tool is enabled, the existing set of selected layers are transformed by dragging with one finger to translate or using two fingers to transform in freeform.

Shapes:
A hold while closing a shape will create circles, ellipses and polygonal shapes. Shapes can be translated and transformed in freeform using one and two fingers respectively.

Brush settings:
Each brush is made up of a brush tip image that is set to a spacing, rotation and squash value. The brush strokes palette provides a place to store brush settings for later use. A drawable brush preview is used to show how the current brush looks. The eraser tool is used to erase and has its own brush set and settings.

Onion skinning:
Onion skinning is a way to show faded out versions of the previous and subsequent drawings of the current sequence. Up to 6 drawings before and after can be onion skinned and the opacity and color of each can be changed.

Cloud:
The cloud icon in the upper right corner indicates if all changes are saved, saving or unable to be saved. The shot can be reloaded from the cloud by clicking on the cloud icon and confirming.

Clipboard:
The clipboard menu is activated by a 3-finger hold. For copy and cut, all selected layers are merged and saved to the clipboard. The paste option copies the clipboard to the current layer.
