AR Peaks app enables you to explore the highest peaks on Earth in Augmented Reality (AR).
The immersive user experience and high quality 3D models let you see the peaks as never before - they appear as real-world objects, right in front of you. You can interact with the peak model as with a real material object. It can be placed on a table, floor or any horizontal plane. You can walk around the object farther and closer to see its detail. It is also possible to drag and rotate the model in the real-world by touching it on your device screen. There is a small compass in the AR scene which always points the model North. Next to the compass there is a marker button, which toggles the 3D markers over the model.

No Internet connection is required for AR Peaks app to work, as all AR data are included in the app.
The peak models have precise terrain shape and accurate scale. They are modelled by our in-house developed software tools, processing the high-precision raw terrain data of "ASTER Global Digital Elevation Model v3", courtesy of JAXA/META and NASA.
The peaks included in current app version are the 14 highest peaks in the World, which are higher than 8000m, also known as the Eight-thousanders. All of them are located in Himalaya - in Himal and Karakorum mountain ranges, in China, India, Nepal and Pakistan countries.
