App Store Description

As architects, interior designers, contractors, teachers, students, and anyone interested in design height information, we need to be aware of vertical measurements for the design work we do. This information is available in books, building code documents, case studies, etc., but it is typically inconvenient to access. This app provides a range of vertical height data typically used in architecture and interior design, useful at home, in the office, or on the construction site.

The following information is provided:

• Feet-inches and metric vertical measuring “tape”
• Building code height requirements corresponding to the International Building Code, with references to the California Building Code (in red)
• ADA code height requirements corresponding to the International Code Council A117.1-2021 Standard for Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities, and the California Building Code Chapter 11B (in blue)
• Typical height measurements based on standard practice, not indicated in the building codes (in orange)

Easily scroll up and down to see height information for items such as stairs, countertops, ADA reach ranges, headroom, etc. The mode setting allows you to pick individual or combined categories of general IBC information, ADA code information, and general height information. The search function provides easy accessibility to key word searches (such as drinking fountain) with highlighted text.

(Note that all height information is not covered in this app, and that there can be exceptions and variations to the information presented, such as regional building codes, institutional codes, etc.)
