Articulate S Lite

This is a sampler version of Articulate S. It's a great clinical tool for a speech therapist, but it can also be used by parents to help their children practice the "s' sound. English language learners will also find this app helpful for pronunciation practice.

The full version of this app consists of 145 images with optional spoken words and text, providing “s” practice through auditory bombardment or flashcard drilling. A fun and visually appealing matching game keeps users motivated to practice their articulation while they play.


Articulate /s/ was created by an ASHA certified and licensed speech-language pathologist. It is suitable for those who omit the “s" sound, substitute another sound for the "s" or produce it in a distorted way, such as with a lisp. Use the app to address the phonological processes of fricative stopping, stridency deletion, cluster simplification and final consonant deletion. The various phonetic contexts provided include:
