App Store Description

ARTiGEN is an iPad only app with which you can create a flow of

* abstract-style textures
* backgrounds
* overlays
* wallpaper
* art
* eye-candy

Besides being great fun, it can also be used as a basis for further graphic development using some of the many photo apps available.

You can't actively draw or paint; just let the app do it for you. 32 design elements are included, some with major alternative versions, the rest with minor adjustments. There is a tremendous amount of randomness built in to ARTiGEN and the odds of ever being able to repeat a design are probably infinite. Colors are also chosen at random. A limited number of colors tends to provide some unity, although the actual colors can vary during the execution of an image. Serendipity is a huge feature of this app.

If you wish to keep a copy of a completed image, just take a screen shot. However, you can set a switch which makes the app pause each time a new element is added to the canvas. Then you can take a screen shot during the various stages of image development.

Another switch allows ARTiGEN to overlay the previous completed image over the initial background, building up an even more complex image.

ARTiGEN starts by applying a background image. It then applies two images over the background (or in Complex mode, four images) and completes the image with an overlay. Whilst the image/s are being applied, a [working] sign lights up but disappears once the activity ceases leaving you with an uncluttered screen.

Please note that ARTiGEN works only in landscape mode, but, because of its nature, an image can be turned by 90 degrees with an external app with equally interesting results.

The idea is for you to embark on a voyage of discovery, explore ARTiGEN, and have fun!

Author of the application is David Pletts.

ARTiGEN is made in "smart BASIC" programming language and is published using smart BASIC SDK for Xcode.
