ASCVD Risk Calculator Pooled Cohort Equations - Cardiac Risk Assist

Cardiac Risk Assist is an application that aids in calculating the 10-year and lifetime risks for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) based on the information provided by the user: age, gender, race, total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, systolic pressure, and additional parameters.

Cardiac Risk Assist retrieves 10-year risk estimates by utilizing the new Pooled Cohort Equations developed by the Risk Assessment Work Group. These risk estimates replaced the Framingham Risk Score from the previous guidelines.

Cardiac Risk Assist was tested thoroughly with normal, extremes, and abnormal data to ensure risk estimates from Cardiac Risk Assist matched with CV Risk Calculator (excel calculator developed by AHA/ACC). It was validated using randomized patient data, n=100. 10-year risk and lifetime risk were similar between the two applications.
