The Acute Surgical Unit mobile app is developed for the ASU unit, doctors, nurses and other health professionals at Nepean Hospital, plus a limited resource for other Health Professionals. This software contains protocols approved by The Unit and used for management of patients presenting and admitted with acute surgical pathologies at the Hospital.
These protocols have been developed by the Acute Surgical Unit and is based on best evidence-based surgical practice, to help the above mentioned professionals in creating standardised efficient care for the patient population within the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District. These protocols are updated and approved by the district on annual basis.
In addition, this software contain shortcuts to other health resources such as calculators and tools that may aid doctors, nurses and researchers working at any Hospital.
Please be advised that the Nepean ASU app is only approved as a tool to aid in the standardised management of acute general surgical patients at the Nepean Hospital. The final clinical decision remain entitled to the surgical teams at Nepean Hospital.
