What is it about?
Basic Drugs is a list of drug cards for EMT-Basic students as per the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Forget searching through websites and apps to find information on the few drugs you will need to know. I have found that information and put it all together in one place. Simple and to the point! There is no need for a huge app that will drain memory and use up resources. A simple app for a simple task, designed for EMT-Basic students. Please keep in mind local protocols vary. I have designed this drug list based on the national standard but have added information based on protocol differences as I come across them. Listed drugs are Activated charcoal, Albuterol, Aspirin, Epinephrine, Oral glucose, Nitroglycerin, Oxygen and I have recently added Naloxone. The program is simple and to the point. Click a link, get the drug information, such as Medication name, Trade name, Drug class, Mechanism of action, Indications, Contraindications, Route, Adult and pediatric doses, Onset and duration, How it's packaged, Adverse effects, and Administration permissions.
