Bhutanmade.bt is a government-led national e-marketplace for all Bhutanese producers and sellers to sell their local 'Made in Bhutan' products in the international markets. It has been launched as one of the initiatives for the International conference called Bhutan Economic Forum for Innovative Transformation (BEFIT) 2019 under the theme "Catalysing Cottage and Small Industries to Drive Bhutan's Economic Diversification". Aligning with the BEFIT 2019 theme, the portal aims to nurture entrepreneurial culture through innovative technology and enhance market access for the cottage and small industries of Bhutan.

Bhutanmade.bt is built for the local people of Bhutan to expand the market beyond their small nation and imbued with a strong sense of Bhutanese value of trust, honesty and credibility. Spearheaded by the Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Affairs(MOEA) and the Bank of Bhutan Ltd., bhutanmade.bt was developed to contribute to the economy and propel exports through direct promotion of local producers and artisans and their indigenous products and crafts in the global market. Unlike other online marketplaces, all products on the portal are first accredited by MOEA for their quality and Bhutanese origin and then undergo an additional layer of bhutanmade.bt scrutiny. Furthermore, the sellers on bhutanmade.bt are direct beneficiaries of all sale proceeds without any middlemen or hidden commissions involved.
