Blok Out is a game in which the reality and the (digital) fictional game-world seamlessly intertwine. You can explore the historical location 'De Blokhuispoort' at your own leisure.

Go on an adventure with Barend!
In the game, you tag along with Barend. Barend is the old keywarden of the prison. He lost his memory and is looking for the suspect who stole them from him. You help Barend to retrieve his memories by exploring the Blokhuispoort.

Solve puzzles!
There is a route in the beautiful monumental prison with puzzles on various locations. At every puzzle location, you can find signs. You can use these to solve the mystery. By scanning these signs with your phone or tablet you can see into the virtual world of Blok Out.

Imprisonment
The goal of the game is to let you, the player, experience what it was like to be locked up and to increase your understanding of the historical value of this landmark. In this interactive manner, you are introduced to the rich history of this old prison.

VR / AR
The game starts with a playable introduction in virtual reality. For the best experience you can use a headset such as a Google Cardboard. Though you can play the introduction even without one. The experience in and around the Blokhuispoort used augmented reality. You solve puzzles by interacting with objects that are only visible on the screen of your device.
You can play by yourself or with others. The game is suitable for children of 8+ years old.
It is easy to pickup, even without experience in playing games on your phone.
