Back Off Back Up is a signal that it is okay to ask for help.
The Back Off Back Up app is a map of Brighton and Hove that points out designated safe venues. These are places where you can go if you’re being harassed, feeling unsafe, or just need a place of respite. These designated venues have promised to help keep you safe and received training on how to support you in the best way possible.
The Back Off Back Up app offers:
- Directions to the nearest safe spot
- Information on the help they offer (such as a chance to charge your phone or to call a friend)-
- An emergency call button that directs you to the Brighton & Hove police, or to a safe number of your choosing.
This app is to be used in Brighton and Hove only.
Back Off Back Up is a street safety campaign run by Across Rainbows – an LGBTQ+ organisation with the mission to redefine queer identity.
