BRASSERIE BAVARIA: A GASTRONOMIC INSTITUTION IN MONTREUX

Brasserie Bavaria exists for over 130 years and, throughout its history, many celebrities have been its customers: musicians such as Phil Collins, Freddie Mercury and Queen, and Milton Nascimento, actors such as Peter Ustinov and Roger Hanin, politicians, writers, and many others.

In 2008, Brasserie Bavaria closed its doors for a while, as the entire neighborhood was reconstructed. It reopened in 2010 in a new building, just a few meters away from the old location.

To keep a link to its glorious past, the frescoes painted in 1951 by Heussler have been faithfully reproduced, in the new modern, airy and bright space.

For twenty years, Angela and Rudi Salzmann have been the heart and soul of Brasserie Bavaria. In 2014, they handed on the restaurant to Gloria Vera, tenant of another well-known Montreux restaurant, the Cave des Vignerons.

Tradition is now guaranteed: Gloria took over not only the restaurant but also the specialities and the spirit of the place, while adding a personal touch.

Montreux has retained its gastronomic institution, enriched with new specialties, to the utmost delight of its guests!
