Human resource is the most valuable strategic resource of a country. Academic institutions play critical role in preparing skilled human resource. Bangladesh needs new professionals across various sectors including aviation to reap benefit of the national demographic dividend. ICAO forecasted that the growth of global air passenger would be doubled by 2030. Asia pacific region is expected to become largest air transport market of the world within next 10 years’ time. Such global trend of aviation expansion will definitely create ample opportunities on the aviation sector of Bangladesh. In light of this, the need was felt for long to establish higher educational institution for the creation of aeronautical and aerospace professional in the country.

The process of which has been expedited with great vision and farsightedness of our Honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Honourable Education Minister Dipu Moni placed the bill in the National Parliament which was passed on 28 February 2019. As aviation and space technology in Bangladesh evolves, the University will look forward to keep itself abreast of various academic and technical innovations and offer important value addition. This university is a step towards becoming a developed nation in which aviation and aerospace technology will be a major economic booster and a high-end income generating sector.
