BU FactCheck

BU FactCheck is owned and operated by HKBU FactCheck Services (FCS). Its purpose is to increase the efficiency with which fake news is identified and deliver fact-checking results promptly. Invited users are encouraged to submit evidence of fake news via this app, which will in turn be verified by FCS.



Highlights:



【Fact-Checking Verdict】Invited users can make a verdict via the app on the suspicious content posted by FCS. This can be done by classifying it as “True,” “Partially True,” “False,” or “Unsubstantiated.” The verdicts entered will be summarized and displayed on the app in real time.



【Information Collection】Invited users can upload evidence to the app relating to suspicious content in various formats, including pictures, text, links, videos, and more. FCS will further verify the authenticity and provide subsequent reports.



【Fact-Checking Request】Invited users can upload suspicious content directly to FCS via the app.

The above functions are available for INVITED USERS ONLY at this stage. Users who have not been invited are instead encouraged to download the app so they can receive up-to-date information regarding fact-checking results and the related evidence.
