App Store Description

Intended Audience:

Bubble 123 provides an entertaining experience for toddlers, pre-school, and kindergarten children to learn to count. Younger children can count from 1 to 10, while more advanced children can count up to 50.

The Game:

Bubble 123 provides a learning environment for counting, with colorful bubbles, audios and animated graphics. Translucent bubbles containing random numbers float across the screen inviting a child to choose the bubble with the correct answer. A reward is given when the child makes the correct selection. Otherwise, the child is gently encouraged to try again. Touching a help button provides hints to aid learning. There are four games, as described below.

Game 1
The first game teaches a child to count sequentially from 1 to 10. The game begins with the audio word for 1 and progresses through the sequence. The child hears the word and selects the floating bubble with the corresponding number. Buzz, a helpful bee in lower right corner, is ready to give hints.

Game 2
The second game helps a child count up to 10 objects. A random number of objects appear at the top of the screen. The child is asked to count the objects and select the bubble containing the correct number. Buzz is ready to help by slowly counting the objects, just as a parent or teacher would.

Game 3
The third game helps a child to sequentially count from 1 to 50. It begins with the number 1 and asks for the next number. Buzz provides help by displaying the sequence immediately preceding the number.

Game 4
The fourth game helps a child to learn to count up to 50 objects. A random number of counting blocks appear on the top of the screen, grouped in stacks of 10, 5, and a remainder of zero to 4 blocks. Again, Buzz is ready to help by slowly counting the objects just as a parent or teacher would.

Learning concepts:

Counting and cardinality
Number recognition
Number name recognition
Counting sequence
Number-value association
Place value
Touch-screen skills

Benefits:

Bubble123 has been child tested to insure that the design is suited for very young fingers. This educational game holds a child’s attention while she or he learns to count. In addition, it improves motor skills and sharpens memory. Toddlers, pre-school, and kindergarten children are eager to play the game over and over. It is an easy first educational game experience for a child on the iPhone.
