Build-a-Brain explorer is designed to help anyone who is interested in learning basic neuroanatomy: physical and occupational therapy students, speech-language pathology students, medical and dental students,  practicing clinicians in the health sciences, as well as patients with neurologic damage and their caregivers.

Learn the functions and locations of key structures in the brain and spinal cord  in a fun and interactive way in three sections: Explorer, Build-A-Brain, and Neural Tracts. In all sections, the user is able interact with one of eleven photographed anatomical sagittal slices.

In Explorer, interactive pins placed in structures for each slice allow the user to click on each of them and see associated definitions and clinically applicable information.

In Build-A Brain, the students build the brain and spinal cord by placing the slices in sequence, receiving feedback when the location of all slices is correct.

In Neural Tracts, students indicate the location of one of three major tracts (Corticospinal, Dorsal-Column Medial Lemniscus, and Spinothalamic) on each slice. When at least two slices have correct locations, the tract is drawn between the slices.
