California HOSA

What is it about?

California HOSA's purpose is to develop leadership and promote technical HOSA skill competencies through a program of motivation, awareness and recognition, which is integral to the Health Science Education program. California HOSA's two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. California HOSA is endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education, the California Department of Education, the Health Science Education Division of the Association for Career and Technical Education, the National Consortium for Health Science Education, the National Association of Secondary School Principals and over 50 other health-related partners and industry associations. Numerous health leadership conferences and professional development opportunities are offered, including the International Leadership Conference (ILC) held in Orlando, FL for 2017; Washington Leadership Academy (WLA) for State and Local Officers held in Washington, DC; HOSA University, which is offered at the ILC; Regional Leadership Conferences held throughout California in September and October 2016; and the State Leadership Conference (SLC) in Sacramento, March 2017.
