We all face important decisions in life: what to study, which career to choose, which car, laptop or phone to buy, where to go on vacation.

Making a choice often involves juggling options in your head, comparing them in different ways and going in circles, then worrying afterwards if you made the right choice.

canDecide helps you make the best decision by clarifying your thoughts and removing the need for mental juggling. It also provides a record of decisions for future reference.

canDecide uses the simple yet powerful Weighted Sum method to help you decide. Enter the options that you want to choose between and the measures that you use to compare them. For example, your options might be different college subjects and the measures might include ‘earning potential’, ‘interest’, ‘benefit to society’ and so on.

Each option is given a score out of ten for each measure, for example one subject might get 7/10 for ‘earning potential’. You can adjust the weight of measures to reflect their relative importance, for example ‘benefit to society’ might matter slightly more than ‘earning potential’ to you.

canDecide guides you through the process of assigning scores and weights then calculates results for each option. The results are presented in order and updated in real time as you modify options and measures or adjust weights and scores.
