About The Park.
Cape Hatteras National Seashore spans most of the Outer Banks, from Wright Brothers National Memorial north of the seashore all the way down to Ocracoke Island - the southern extent of the seashore. Relax or play on sandy barrier island beaches, in the energetic Atlantic Ocean, or in the nurturing Pamlico Sound. Climb the historic Cape Hatteras and Bodie Island lighthouses. Discover the history of the area known as the “Graveyard of the Atlantic,” and the people who call this remote place home. Watch a variety of bird species migrate along the Atlantic Flyway. All this and more await you in America’s first national seashore!
