App Store Description

This application provides guidance for the management of patients complaining of chest pain of possible cardiac origin, using the 0/1 hour and 0/3 hours high-sensitivity cardiac troponin T (hs-cTnT; Roche Elecsys) algorithms. It is based on the 2020 guidelines of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) for Non-ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction.

The application consists of simple questions such findings on ECG, onset of chest pain prior to evaluation and hs-cTnT values on first evaluation and at 1 hour or 3 hours later. It allows the health-care provider to rule-in or rule-out myocardial infarction with high accuracy, in 75% of cases within the first hour after presentation. The remaining 25% of patients have to be observed up to 3 hours before making a final decision.

The application is free of charge and is intended to be used by health-care providers dealing with chest pain patients, such as cardiologists, emergency room doctors, critical care physicians, residents and interns…

The application is not intended for use in the USA.

The algorithm used in this application is not applicable for other troponin assays.
