What is it about?

The Carolina Campaign App is an Army-developed app that supports the Warrant Officer Course held at the Adjutant General School, Fort Jackson, SC. The App provides students with an interactive historical survey of the Civil War Campaign known simply as the Carolina Campaign. Students are able to browse dynamic maps to view the historic campaign progress through the state of South Carolina into Fayetteville, North Carolina as it was commanded by General William Tecumsah Sherman in January of 1865. The Army’s path has be reconstructed with the aid of era maps, Civil War correspodence, and other primary sources. Students are additionally able to view the events and tactical movements that occurred during the infamous Burning of Columbia on February 17th, 1865.
