Congestive heart failure (CHF)
is a condition in which the heart is unable to pump sufficient blood. It can result from ischemic heart disease, hypertension, valvular heart disease and other forms of heart disese. There are multiple variants of CHF and their clinical management requires a delicate balance of fluid input and output. Epidemiological studies are currently being conducted to better characterize clinical management, which is often insufficient, resulting in poor quality of life, frequent hospitalization and frequent readmissions.

The goal of this app is to help patients take control over their condition by monitoring their symptoms, liquid intake and weight on a daily basis. In a future app update, a feature will be added so that if there is worsening of symptoms or sudden warning signs of decompensation, an alert will automatically get sent to your physician so that early action can be taken to prevent hospitalization.
