App Store Description

Have you ever used several video trimming apps and found it difficult to trim videos exactly as you wanted?
You probably had experiences like these:

- Difficult to accurately specify the trimming position by dragging with your finger

Most video trimming apps require you to drag the start and end positions on the video timeline with your finger to specify the trimming range. However, on a small phone screen, accurately specifying the trimming position with your finger is extremely challenging. You might have experienced moments when, just as you thought you had successfully dragged the range, your finger moved slightly, causing the range to shift, or when you tried to move your finger by just 1mm but ended up moving it by about 2mm, making it very difficult to move your finger accurately.

- Especially difficult to trim a short range from a long video

When trying to trim a short section from a long video, the start and end positions are so close together on the screen that you might end up dragging the end position when you intended to drag the start position, and vice versa. Sometimes, after various attempts, the start and end positions become so close that you can't tell which is which.

- Difficult to check the trimming range while watching the video

Most video trimming apps display the video in the top half of the screen and the timeline or other UI for specifying the trimming range in the bottom half. This means the video is displayed in only about half of the screen, making it hard to see and check on a small screen.

If you have had such experiences, please try ChotCut.

Features of ChotCut

- Simple and accurate trimming range specification

Instead of the common method of specifying the range by dragging with your finger, ChotCut adopts a unique UI where you move along the timeline to the desired position and then tap the start button and the end button to specify the trimming range. There’s no need to nervously keep dragging with your finger.

- Easy movement to the desired position

Whether for short videos, long videos, or any video, ChotCut makes it easy to move to the desired position with a two-pronged approach: a seek bar for broad movement and a timeline for finer adjustments. After moving roughly with the seek bar, you can move more precisely with the timeline. Additionally, you can move in 0.1-second increments by tapping the buttons on either side of the timeline, and in 0.5-second increments by tapping the sides of the video, allowing for easy and precise movement from broad to fine adjustments.

- Full-screen display of the video during editing

ChotCut displays the video in full screen during editing, allowing you to check the trimming position on a large screen.

- Options for lossless trimming and precise trimming

With ChotCut, you can trim videos without any quality loss if no other processing is done during trimming. In the case of lossless trimming, it is necessary to trim based on keyframes, so the specified trimming range may slightly deviate. However, it allows for fast trimming without quality loss. If you do not want any deviation in the specified trimming range, you can choose precise trimming, though it takes more time.

- Simple conversion capabilities

ChotCut allows you to rotate and flip videos during trimming. Additionally, although ChotCut is primarily a video trimming app, it offers simple conversion features such as changing the playback speed for trimming, converting to a sequence of photos, and converting to an animated GIF.

If you have been dissatisfied with previous video trimming apps, please give ChotCut a try.
