ADD YOUR OWN COLOR
Through camera and location access, City Palette allows users to upload the colors from their own local environment. The app will choose a dominant tone to save from each user-submitted image. Users assign their own names to the colors they upload. Have you ever wanted to name your own crayon? Now’s your chance.
SEE YOUR CITY’S COLORS
Users can browse other “nearby” colors to see how people near them are seeing things. Colors can be arranged into downloadable collections appropriate for use with most design software. City Palette was first designed for use in New Orleans, Louisiana, a historically colorful city in the midst of many changes.
WHO WE ARE
City Palette was designed by Taylor Snead, based on a concept by artists Chloë Bass and Bob Snead. The app was originally released as part of Bass’ project The Book of Everyday Instruction, Chapter Seven: Subject to change without notice, produced as part of the Spillways Fellowship for Antenna.
