CivicMapper: Know Where You Are!

CivicMapper is a powerful tool designed to help users view detailed information about the jurisdictions they are currently located in within the United States. Whether you’re a geography enthusiast, a civics buff, or a professional in need of precise data about your location, CivicMapper gives you real-time insight on your current location’s civic boundaries.

CivicMapper includes the following jurisdiction information about a location:
1. State
2. County (or equivalent)
3. City (Incorporated Place)
4. County subdivision
5. US Congressional district
6. State senate district
7. State house districtCensus tract
8. Census block and group
9. Urban area
10. Combined statistical area

For updates based on real-time location changes, enable "On-the-go" mode. CivicMapper will refresh your location at customizable intervals and notify you whenever you've crossed into a new jurisdiction. This feature ensures you're always aware of which jurisdictions you’re in, making it useful for professionals working in government, particularly those in election or census related roles.

CivicMapper's "Teleport" feature allows you to explore random locations across the United States. This feature is ideal for geography enthusiasts or those looking to explore different regions of the country in a unique way.

Why Use CivicMapper? You might be thinking 'Can't other popular mapping and navigation apps tell me this information too?' Not really! Most such apps only include address information, containing city, state, and zip code, but they usually don’t include county, or information about a whole host of other jurisdictions. Even the city portion of a standard postal address doesn’t always match the actual city limits where the address is located! For example, homes in rural areas or unincorporated parts of a county may still have a city listed in their address. This is because the postal service assigns the city portion based on zip codes, not actual city boundaries. As all US territory falls within a zip code but not always within a city, the most representative city for each zip code serves as the city in postal addresses, even if the location isn't within that, or any, city’s limits.

Discover your location’s jurisdictions like never before with CivicMapper!
