App Store Description

The App illustrates the health impact of short and long-term exposure to air pollution on populations as a whole and offers daily forecast notifications. It shows concentrations of dangerous airborne particles (PM₂.₅) and ozone (O₃) for the latest hour at your current location from the OpenWeather service together with our Air Pollution Alert Index for short-term exposure over the last and next 24 hours.

The App also estimates the number of deaths attributable to long-term exposure to air pollution in England on a pro rata, calendar year-to-date basis and the time to the next attributable death as well as displaying the percentage of total deaths attributable to air pollution. It does not estimate or display the risk for an individual or the number of actual deaths from air pollution.

Users can also see estimates of total population-weighted exposure to annual average concentrations of PM₂.₅ in different local areas and/or regions in England. The alert bands for short and long-term exposure to air pollution are based on Clean Air in London's interpretation of the World Health Organisation's air quality guidelines published in September 2021.
