CLet is a minimalist flashcard app for reviewing bopomofo letters. The main menu allows the selection of a basic set of cards, or a complete set of cards.
The basic set contains every individual bopomofo letter. The complete set contains every possible combination of bopomofo letters, which means it essentially contains every possible sound in Mandarin Chinese.
The flashcard screen allows you to go through the cards one by one, self-evaluating and marking each as correct or incorrect. The deck can be reset or shuffled in place at any time.
While there are more full-featured apps for Chinese study and better apps for learning of the writing system, if you are looking for a simple app that can enable daily review of bopomofo letters, CLet may be the simple solution that works for you.
Note: The complete deck of flashcards contains a number of sound combinations that are not in common use. Also, the complete deck of flashcards is based on Taiwanese guoyu, meaning that it contains some sounds used only in Taiwanese Mandarin, and omits some sounds in common use in Chinese putonghua that are not used in Taiwan. These flashcards also ignore tones completely, which leaves out a large part of the spoken language. Tones are beyond the scope of this app, whose main use case is reviewing the symbols and their equivalent pinyin spelling.
