App Store Description

If you have ever wondered how real scientists perform their day to day work, or how your tax money is spent on Climate research, then Climategate is the App for you.

Climategate is a free, searchable, iPhone based repository of the emails at the heart of the CRU Climategate controversy.

This free Climategate App is specifically designed for you to use in situations of poor Internet coverage, such as during your daily commute. The many excellent online Climategate repositories suffer the shortcoming that they are web based. The Climategate App addresses this shortcoming, by storing all required resources locally, on your iPhone.

The scientists who wrote the emails have been officially cleared of wrongdoing, by several inquiries in both the USA and Great Britain, so the emails, and some of the fascinating quotes contained therein, should not be interpreted as evidence of wrongdoing. For more information about the official reviews and their findings, please visit:
http://www.realclimate.org .

Nevertheless, the emails contained in the Climategate App are an intriguing and rare insight into the professional lives of real scientists, and are valuable from the perspective of furthering our understanding of how Climate Scientists perform their daily work, and how our tax money is spent in the pursuit of greater knowledge.

My thanks to John Costella, an Australian based scientist, who kindly provided me with permission to reproduce his list of some of the more thought provoking quotes from the Climategate emails. For more information about John Costella and his research on this topic. please visit his site at:
