This calculator determines the best coffee to water ratio for a variety of coffee methods, excluding espresso. Why isn't espresso considered? The fact is that to assess the strength of espresso, the ratio of the weight of ground coffee to the weight of the finished product is used, since it is difficult to determine how much water will be spent on preparing one serving in an espresso coffee machine. At the same time, when brewing coffee by other methods, the ratio of the weight of coffee to the weight of water used for preparation is used. We can’t compare apples with oranges?

Note that the calculator will determine the total amount of brewed coffee, taking into account the water that will be absorbed by ground coffee.

Note that tablespoons and teaspoons are used to approximate the measurement of volume rather than weight; coffee is usually measured using teaspoons “with a slide” - such a measure is very inaccurate and in this way coffee should only be measured in the absence of weights.
