App Store Description

Easily calculate the resistance of a coil with a few flicks of your finger. CoilFactory is the best utility available to the Vape community today.

CoilFactory is the easiest and quickest way to calculate the resistance of your upcoming round-wire build. With the popularity of vaping growing exponentially, more and more people are building handmade coils for their atomizers. Whether you're building for an RDA, RTA, RDTA, on a mechanical or regulated mod, it's importing to build coils at a safe resistance.

Don't waste time and wire wrapping a coil and hoping the resistance measures out to your desired ohms. CoilFactory takes the guesswork out of building. Using the same formulas and algorithms as the popular desktop website Steam Engine -- CoilFactory allows you to play around with the details of your coils before touching any wire.

Simply enter drag the sliders around and watch the resistance update at the bottom. The following properties are used to determine the resistance (Ω) of the build:

::: Wire Material :::
Type of metal (or metal compound) that the wire is made of. Different materials have different properties and conductivity, leading to different coil resistances.

Available Wire Materials:

• Kanthal A1 / APM, Kanthal A / AE / AF, Kanthal D, Nichrome N20, Nichrome N40, Nichrome N60 (C), Nichrome N70 (B), Nichrome N80 (A), SS 304, SS 316, SS 316L / Elite, SS 317L / Haywire, SS 430, Gold, Silver, Titanium 1, Titanium 2 (R50400), Nickel Ni200, NiFe30 (Resistherm) -- and more on the way!

::: Single or Dual coil :::
Number of coils in your build. Dual coils will be half the resistance (Ω) of a single coil configuration.

::: Wire Gauge :::
Thickness of the wire represented as AWG (American Wire Gauge). The thicker the wire the lower the resistance, and vice-versa.

::: Inner Diameter :::
The diameter/thickness of the rod, screwdriver, or coil-jig you'll be wrapping the wire around. Resistance increases with the inner diameter size. Measured in millimeters (mm).

::: Number of Wraps :::
Use full wraps if you're building for an atomizer where both legs of the coil point in the same direction (ie: 8.0). Likewise half wraps should be used if the legs point opposite directions (ie: 7.5).

::: Total Leg Length :::
The combined total length of both legs of a single coil. Measured in millimeters (mm). (ex: If each leg of a coil measures 3.5 mm, you would set 7.0 mm in the field.)

::: Wrap Spacing :::
Distance in millimeters (mm) between wraps. (ex: If your wraps are touching the value should be 0.0 mm.)

Please email us with any thoughts, questions, or comments. With your help we look forward to improving CoilFactory and adding more features. We're currently working on adding flat/ribbon wires, parallel & twisted builds, as well as clapton and more exotic builds to future updates.

If you have a moment and can leave us a short review, that would help us immensely in spreading the word and reaching as many people in the vaping community as possible. Thank you.

SAFETY DISCLAIMER:
Please use caution when working with electrical currents. Only experienced users should attempt to rebuild resistance coils. You should have a good understanding of Ohm's Law and always build coils that are safe, not exceeding the limits of your devices and batteries. We cannot be held responsible for any injury or damage resulting from your use of the information generated in this app. All resistances generated are meant as theoretical values and may differ in real-world application based on many environmental, equipment, and technical variables.

Stay safe, and vape on!
