Coord Up has three basic concepts to streamline coordinating with friends. These are: groups, activities, and events.
A group is simply a named set of contacts for just you. Think of groups like a shortcut so you don't have to add individuals to events every time. For example, you may create a group called "Roomies" where you add your roommates. Then when you create a "Movie Night" event, you can add the "Roomies" group and everyone in the group is automatically included! We do not upload any contact information.
An activity is a basic description of something you do. Think of activities like a template for creating an event. You can configure a default group and default duration for an activity which are used during event creation. For example, you may create a "Pickleball" activity with default group "Pickleballers" and default duration "2 Hours". You can then create an event from this activity, and the event form will be auto-filled with all details and participants. Additionally, you can "check in" to an activity — this is a one-click way to share what you're currently doing with friends if they want to join!
An event can be one of three types: shared, invite, or floating.
A shared event is simply a way to share what you're doing. These appear on the calendar, but not the inbox. This is just like texting your friends saying "Hey I'm going to the gym later, hope to see you there!" but they don't necessarily have to RSVP.
An invite is a traditional calendar event with RSVPs. Having a party? — send an invite! These invitations appear in the traditional inbox, and they are on your calendar if you accept the invite.
Finally, a floating event is an event without a set time. When you text friends saying, "let's hang out next week" you've floated the idea or intention — later you can decide to "pin" the event to a specific time and day.
