3C's Crisis Checklists are an aide-memoir for training on medical and surgical wards. For the first release we have produced 12 checklists including Sepsis, Asthma, Gastro-Intestinal bleed, and also a checklist for safe transport of patients.

We have put together an approach that we would use in our clinical practice. Can you help us to develop Crisis Checklists further?
The Crisis Checklist application is priced at the level of a Flat White. All returns are being put straight back into improvement of the app. To develop release No 2 we are looking for support from 1000 clinical collaborators like you. Will you join the collaborative to make hospital care safer?

In 2010 we started to standardise the process of how we assess deterioration and critical illness in hospitalized patients in the UK. The result was the introduction of the National Early Warning Score (NEWS). We know that standardisation helps to improve reliability and safety. Can we standardize the response to acute illness?
The Crisis Checklist Collaborative (3C) is a group of people who are passionate about patient safety: we are nurses, doctors, technicians, specialists from industry and even aviation. We come from the UK, Ireland, Germany, France, US and Australia.

Here is our learning: Checklists work best if done by a team. Checklists enable everybody on your clinical team (nurses, doctors, physio-therapists) to contribute. Teams who use this approach make less errors. Research from operating theatre and trauma teams strongly supports this.

The 3C app is our first draft. We are sure that the checklists that we devised have plenty of flaws and can be significantly improved. But we don’t think that we can do this on our own: we are looking for 1000 clinical developers to help us, test and improve the checklists in real life.
