Some music is easier to listen to on headphones and some isn't

Crossfeed Music Player

by Ryan Harper

What is it about?

Some music is easier to listen to on headphones and some isn't. Music mastered to be played on speakers can be harder to enjoy on headphones when parts of the music exist only on one side. When played in a room with speakers this sounds great because both ears can hear all of the music.

App Store Description

Some music is easier to listen to on headphones and some isn't. Music mastered to be played on speakers can be harder to enjoy on headphones when parts of the music exist only on one side. When played in a room with speakers this sounds great because both ears can hear all of the music.

We perceive the direction of sound by the volume of the sound hitting each ear but our brains also recognize the time-delay it takes for the sound to reach each ear. Amazing!

This app recreates that time-delay so you can enjoy your music more like you would with speakers. It doesn't use reverb or any room acoustics, only the time-delay.

You can adjust the mix. 0% gives you your music as you normally hear it without the crossfeed. 100% is a 50/50 blend of the original music and the crossfeed; this gives the sense of a mono-channel.

NOTE: This app only plays music you have downloaded to your device, either through your computer or Apple Music.
