CVEMontor App (iOS)
Description
The Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures is a database of vulnerabilities in software. CVEs are a standard means of publishing and tracking vulnerabilities and exposures.
CVEMonitor provides a convenient way to keep an eye on the issuance of newly issued CVE entries. This information is published by Mitre Corporation through a publicly accessible data feed. The periodic updates include both new CVEs and updates to prior published CVEs.
Pulling down on and then releasing the main table view will refresh the data by fetching and processing the latest CVE data feed. CVE data is stored onboard the app (up to 5000 entries) for convenient review. If the limit is reached, the oldest entries will be replaced. Entries may be locked to ensure that they won’t be deleted.
The feed data includes:
- the CVE ID number
- the CVSS Score
- the CWE ID
- exploit count
- initial publication date
- date of most recent update
- vulnerability description
- the URL of the CVE’s CVEDetails webpage
CVEMonitor provides a search capability to help navigate the database. Searches can be by CVE ID, CVSS score or a text search of the summaries.
CVE is a registered trademark of the Mitre Corporation.
