تأسست القائمة الهندسية في عام 1978 علي يد مجموعة من طلبة كلية الهندسة والبترول في جامعة الكويت همهم الوحيد خدمة الطلبة بعيدا عن اي تيار او توجه خارجي، وقد استطاعت القائمة الفوز بالانتخابات باول نزول لها، وذلك عام 1979 عندما فازت بجميع مقاعد الهيئة الادارية

وهي قائمة ذات توجه وطني معتدل تضم كافة الجنسيات والفئات من طلبة وطالبات كلية الهندسة والبترول، و تسعى من خلال خوضها انتخابات جمعية الهندسة والبترول خدمة جميع طلبة الكلية تحت شعار : خدمة الجميع بعيدا عن التعصب والطائفية
