App Store Description

The training with "Das Die Der - German articles" supports the acquisition of the article (grammatical gender) of nouns. The learning concept is particularly suitable for teaching and language therapy. For a large set of nouns, the article is practiced and consolidated in a playful and varied way. Article errors in speaking decrease.

The use of the app is particularly useful for children and adults who are learning German as a foreign or second language, as well as for children with language development disorders.

The app contains about 800 German nouns, which are used to systematically and playfully learn the article. In contrast to other existing apps in this area, the vocabulary is controlled according to important psycholinguistic criteria. The word material was compiled with the help of the children's corpus childLEX (Schroeder et al., 2015) in order to select common nouns suitable for children. Only frequent nouns were selected from the entire corpus, i.e. nouns that occur particularly frequently in the language of children.

In addition, the app includes a dictionary with more than 50,000 nouns, which can be used to look up the article, based on the german Duden.
