What is it about?

In hopes of contributing to reducing the extensive problem of deforestation, a small step can be taken in my local school community. During exam weeks, exit passes are printed on colorful paper and given to students as a symbol of their parents’ consent; this allows security personnel to let the student leave the school premises prior to the end of the school day and results in a lot of paper wastage. A solution to this problem is the digitalization of the exit passes so that the usage of paper is no longer necessary.

App Store Description

In hopes of contributing to reducing the extensive problem of deforestation, a small step can be taken in my local school community. During exam weeks, exit passes are printed on colorful paper and given to students as a symbol of their parents’ consent; this allows security personnel to let the student leave the school premises prior to the end of the school day and results in a lot of paper wastage. A solution to this problem is the digitalization of the exit passes so that the usage of paper is no longer necessary.

After the student has logged into the app, they will be able to access the content of the app which includes Student Information (their name and class). There will also be a section allocated to the generation of QR codes which will serve as the exit passes. In this case, the data encoded in the QR code will be that of the Student. These one-time use passes will be randomly generated so that then the status of the user can be updated without any issues. After they have been scanned as having used their exit pass, the status change to them having left the school. There is also an interface created for Parental usage in order to track the student’s status as well as Admin usage, so that Security and Admins can scan the QR codes and give permission to students to leave the school premises.
