App Store Description

Dialogue is a subtitle reader. Its goal is to help users who like to learn English through films or TV series to improve their learning efficiency.

Features of Dialogue

Dialogue is a minimalist application that doesn't have many features, but its core features are very useful.

1. Subtitle File Parsing

The most important feature of Dialogue is the ability to parse subtitle files. She can automatically parse long and complicated .srt and .ass files and render them into highly readable text.

2. Chinese and English Merger

Some subtitle files contain Chinese and English dialogue, but the content is not on the same line. For example, the first few hundred lines are Chinese and the last few hundred lines are English which is very inconvenient to read. The Chinese and English merging function of Dialogue can automatically merge these lines during the parsing process.

3. Wireless upload

Dialogue supports uploading subtitle files into the app for reading via Wi-Fi.

4. iCloud Syncing

Dialogue supports syncing subtitle files via iCloud.

5. Dictionary and Wordbook

If you encounter a new word while reading, you can press and hold to query its definition. This design eliminates the need for users to constantly jump between different applications during reading and improves the reading experience. In addition, you can also collect new words. By enabling the context selector in the settings, a context selector will pop up when adding new words. You can use it to select the context in which the word is located. This can ensure that the dialogue is a complete sentence, not a part of the sentence.

6. Content Export

Dialogue supports exporting subtitle content to PDF files, while new words can be exported to PDF or CSV files. PDF or CSV files can be managed (downloaded, deleted) directly in the web interface for uploading subtitles, and can also be copied and shared to other apps through the share menu.
