The explorable section illustrates Housesteads Mithraeum as it may have appeared in the early 3rd century AD.
The digital artefacts mode allows interaction and inspection of a selection of key pieces from the collection. This enables a closer study, in some cases a full 360° view, of these artefacts which are usually in cabinets or even in storage and not normally on display.
We hope that you enjoy the experience. The artefacts depicted here can be seen at the Clayton Museum at Chesters Roman Fort and the Museum of Antiquities at Newcastle Upon Tyne.
