App Store Description

Many children’s psychologists are beating an alarm: modern children spend too much time in front of a TV screen.

Unfortunately, nowadays many parents talk with their children too little, don't tell them fairy-tales and almost don't read books, preferring to let them watch some cartoon, 'saving' time for something else. Alas, children do pay dear for their parents' "spare time".

Among the consequences of child's TV-mania are inability to concentrate attention, poor vocabulary, and primitive fantasy. Besides, children, “raised in front of a TV", often can’t properly communicate - it is difficult for them to put themselves in somebody else's place, to understand others, they lack empathy. What should parents do? The solution is to restrict time their children spend staring at a TV screen – instead, Moms and Dads should communicate with their kids, play games, read books, and also remember about such a remarkable alternative to the television set as film-strips, or slidefilms.

Middle-aged people, who grew up in the USSR, do remember how their parents took a slide projector from a closet, hung a white sheet on a wall, switched the light off and... in a mysterious semi-darkness heroes of favorite fairy-tales, stories, poems and cartoons came back to life on the white screen.

Slidefilms for children are numerous: they were produced for decades, both for little children and for older kids. Every film-strip is unique: the most famous Soviet artists took it as a compliment to be asked to draw pictures for film-strips, they were proud of these works. Writings, after which film-strips were created, were selected very scrupulously: every fairy-tale, story or poem was intended not to simply entertain children, but to educate them, to teach them something good, unnoticeably inculcating basic principles of moral and ethics.

A slide film advantageously differs from movies and cartoons – you can vary speed of viewing a slide film: to stay on every picture as much as your child needs to understand and properly comprehend what he or she saw and heard, you also can come back and remember something. There is no need to hurry, inevitably losing something - everything is comprehended properly, without any haste. Thus, viewing slidefilms splendidly trains ability to concentrate attention consciously -a skill, which is extremely necessary at school. It’s exactly what the children who are too fond of TV usually lack.

Following the text being read, a kid gradually learns to read, trains his or her memory. And how proud a child is when he or she is asked to read a film-strip to a younger brother or sister!

And the most important - when a family views a slidefilm together, a child truly feels unity of the family. Such minutes spent together are priceless, your children will remember about them for all their lives. Spare no time on slidefilms!

It doesn’t matter that Dad’s iPad has replaced a slide projector and a touch screen is now used instead of a sheet on a wall, children enjoy slidefilms just like their mothers and dads did in their childhood.
