Fishes of Oklahoma
What is it about?
Our main goal with the development of the fish app “Fishes of Oklahoma” is to provide an engaging learning environment for a broad audience including students, scientists, and local anglers. We also anticipate that this platform will be useful for fishery inspectors, officers, and conservation biologists that are increasingly tasked with the complex and challenging assignment of fish identification. The implementation of the mobile app mined and curated currently available fish records as well as generated and gathered new data in an attempt to unify all available information for the fish species distributed in the state of Oklahoma. This is an ongoing effort that we plan to continue updating in real-time as more data is made available to us.
