Fish and seafood are among the top ten commodities considered by EU as the most at risk for frauds.
Species substitution (selling a species different from that declared on the label) is the most frequent fraud in seafood. Mislabelling has been found in up to 30% of the considered species.

This app takes a photo (directly from the camera or from the photo album) of a fish and the name of the declared species and makes sure the two information match. The result is the probability that the species belongs to the one declared on the label.

The app also includes a fish guide to train users to recognize fish species as well as the most common features that reveal fish frauds.
