Flowerling

Flowerling allows us to do what we all love to do - send someone flowers, but right from our iOS device. And just like the real thing, Flowerlings will age in real time right on your device but without all the hassle of dirty smelly water and falling leaves and petals. When you send a Flowerling, you also reduce the environmental impact of growing, fertilizing, shipping, storing, refrigerating and packaging of real flowers. You do all of that just by sending a Flowerling.

For every Flowerling sent, we plant a real Mangrove tree in Madagascar through our partnership with Eden Reforestation Project. That Mangrove tree will not only trap carbon dioxide for over a millennia, it will also create one of the most productive ecosystems on the planet. Mangroves create Blue Carbon which is carbon that is stored and sequestered in the ecosystems of Mangrove forests. Those forests can store up to 800 tons of carbon per hectare. It is also estimated that Mangrove forests provide a monetary value of benefits to local communities of up to $194,000.00 per hectare annually. This lifts families out of poverty and restores hope.

Flowerling is committed to reversing this tragic loss by planting 5 million trees in 4 years. That would be the equivalent 1.330 billion kilograms of trapped carbon or 2.325 billion car miles not driven. That’s huge! Together our global community can make this happen - reversing erosion and flooding, saving endangered animal species and restoring that which was almost lost.
