App Store Description

This mindful eating tool will help you achieve your wellness goals by allowing you to appreciate meals without the constant interruption of work and personal emails, tweets, text messages, and alerts.

Fork Up Phone Down helps to build wellness boundaries by establishing time just for nutrition, not multitasking. Breakfast is set for 15 minutes. Lunch is set for 20 minutes. Dinner is set for 25 minutes.

By having designated time to enjoy essential nourishment and nutrients there may be a decrease in stress and emotional eating.

Many individuals eat mindlessly at mealtime. It’s usual to eat while checking emails or viewing social media. But when you eat mindfully, studies show you slow down, turn off autopilot, and focus on the current moment. Raising awareness helps you become more conscious of your food choices.

When you eat mindfully, it also makes you more aware of your body’s cues that tell you how hungry or full you are. Listening to these appetite cues are especially important for people that struggle with food issues like eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge-eating disorder. Mindful eating may also help people with type 2 diabetes to improve their food choices, lose weight, and lower their A1c.

Finally, going tech free is not just for people with medical issues but also for the average American that wants to embrace their nutrition and unplug for a little while.
