App Store Description
The Freestall Assessor App was developed at the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine. The app uses a graphical interface to aid in the evaluation of a
dairy's freestall design.
When the app is initiated, the user is presented with a picture of a typical freestall and dimension text fields. You may select divider type, freestall alignment, cow size,
and bedding type. Default values have been entered to start. To change any of these values, touch in the appropriate text field, select the desired value and touch Done.
You will see a picture demonstrating how to measure the stall dimensions by touching the letter label near the arrow. Upon releasing the touch the picture will disappear and the dimension can be entered in the appropriate text field. If the dimension you entered is outside of the tolerances for any of the parameters you selected the letter label color will change to yellow. If the dimension is within the default value tolerances the label color will change to green.
To obtain accurate measurements use the included descriptions and example pictures as guidelines.
Once the stall measurements have been entered, the user may change the cow size to gauge how well the existing stalls accommodate cows in the herd.
