This video by Learn and Play with J&A, will show children how to effectively use their fingers or a ten frame to work out the number combination to 10.

Number combination to 10 is essential knowledge in early numeracy development.

Children who can recall number combinations that total 10 automatically will be able to transfer this knowledge to other areas of learning in mathematics such as addition and subtraction.

Once this basic skill has been mastered, it will be easier for children to relate the same concept to number combinations to 20, 30, 50, 100 and so on.
