Ger Conroy is involved in the fitness industry since 2006. He worked for 9 years as a fitness instructor & personal trainer before opening a fitness studio in Mulhuddart Village, Dublin15. We are proud to say we now have three premises, one in Mulhuddart, one in Castleknock, Dublin 15 and one in Ratoath, Co. Meath. We provide an affordable, friendly, welcoming and safe environment for the whole community to train, exercise and improve their health both mental and physical. Since starting the business in 2014 in a 1,000 sqft studio in Mulhuddart with 1 employee and 20 classes per week we have grown rapidly. In less than 2 years Mulhuddart expanded to 6,000 sqft fully equipped gym and studio employing 8 people and 51 classes per week. In August 2017 we opened another studio and fully equipped gym providing 43 classes per week in Castleknock at Junction 6 and welcomed more staff members to join our amazing team. Then, in August 2018 we opened a 1,000 sqft studio in Ratoath Village Co. Meath with 33 classes per week to choose from. Our team has continued to grow, and we are pleased to note we have 28 enthusiastic members of staff.
The key areas for growth in our business are increasing the number and variety of classes to suit as much of the community as possible. (Our Mummies and Buggies Class which is a child friendly class is proving very popular for people on maternity leave) We are continuously looking at developing and providing the local community with affordable packages. We have high standards in what we expect from our Personal Trainers and in order to ensure we have the best Trainers we have started our own Fitness Training Academy. The Ger Conroy Fitness Academy is accredited by ITEC/VCTC and is a unique Training facility for students looking to become Ireland’s leading Personal Trainers and Fitness instructors. We employ directly from the academy and other students have secured employment in various gyms around Dublin and as the certificate is recognized globally one student has set off to Australia with his qualification.
We are a community gym, no matter what your age or physical condition we want to have a class that accommodates you. We listen to the needs of our members and rely on feedback to continue to improve and grow. For example, during school holidays and mid- term breaks we provide Teens and children’s classes, so parents can still stay fit and help the next generation build great fitness habits.
We strive to create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere both in the gym and classes. We are very Family orientated and hold annual family fun days and charitable events. We have regular members appreciation night’s out to continue building on that community spirit within the gym with lots of prizes, games, prosecco and finger food. We hold regular coffee mornings for our members to meet and chat. We pride ourselves on our reputation and our willingness to go the extra yard to help our members who we strive to be on a first name basis with.
